Tried for a crime you didn’t commit, you find yourself in a prison cell, handcuffed and blindfolded with stifling smoke. Your team has been separated into two neighbouring cells. You quickly realise you’re going to have to work together if you want to make it out. But hurry – the guards will be back in just one hour, and who knows what will happen when they arrive!
Built in 2015 and opened as one Paniq Room Sydney’s original rooms, Supercell 117 is about as ‘OG’ as you can get for an escape room both in theme and execution. The original Sydney jail-break, Supercell 117’s aim is – you guessed it – breaking out of jail!
Owners, Akos and Martina, wanted something traditional for their first room, and went with the jailbreak theme knowing its popularity. Much of the furniture in this room was recycled or reclaimed, including the original cell doors!
Don’t expect this escape to be easy – you’ll start handcuffed and blindfolded in the dark. You’ll need to get the lights on and your handcuffs off before you can really get started.
Supercell 117 is a thrilling escape that features prison bars, two cells and enough locks to get your heart-rate soaring. The non-linear, co-operative format of Supercell 117 is where this room really shines – with your group split into two teams in different cells, you’ll be able to work on different puzzles but ultimately, you’ll rely on teamwork and strong communication to mount a successful escape.
Puzzles are fast and furious with plenty of search-and-find fun, physical puzzles, pattern recognition and an awesome metapuzzle which ties the room together for a very satisfying ending.
And just when you think you’re done…think again!
This room is great for a larger group (up to 8 people), so this is a room that really suits birthdays or a fun night out with friends. For those who are up for a challenge, Supercell 117 is playable as a duo for experienced escapers – just ring ahead if you want to play as two. The old school vibe makes it suitable for first timers, and teens and tweens especially love being locked up!
This room features a dark beginning, handcuffs and blindfolds (optional, but recommended!). No horror, gore or jump scares. Suitable for all ages and for corporate groups.
